Ignite your Passion; Identify your Identity

Since young, my dad always said, "This is your life, you do what you want." This freedom of mind and act has shaped who I am right now.

"What do I want?" "What do I not want?" "What a person I want to be?" "What a person I don't want to be?" are questions that I started thinking since I was a kid.

I was a lucky one.

To share the importance of knowing who we are, I conducted a workshop on identifying your identity from igniting your passion to a group of like-minded people who want to do something for the community.

I know people rarely touch this topic but I am stubborn enough to believe that even if you have the top strategies, without passion, without knowing your identity, you will soon be lost.

"People say you have to have a lot of passion for what you are doing and it’s totally true... So if you don’t really love it and you are not having fun doing it, you are going to give up." ~ Steve Jobs

Participants shared with me some interesting feedback: 1. I thought workshops about passion, vision and mission must be boring. 2. I didn't know I needed to have my own vision and mission. I have always been told to follow company's vision and mission. 3. I thought I couldn't come up with anything in such a short workshop. 4. I thought I had lost my passion! 5. I feel so good knowing what's unique about me that I can contribute to others. 6. I felt opened-up and found it easier to follow the rest of the training.

Etc.

I am a lucky one. Are you? And are we creating more lucky ones? Or are we creating more lost sheep?

Deepest thanks to NLP University and my trainer mates for further inspiring me to fine-tune and well-form my passion, vision and mission.

I have found and created myself.

"Unless you know who you are, you will always be vulnerable to what people say." ~ Dr. Phil Mccraw
